The GBP/USD gapped up about fifty pips on the open of the new session. This triggered a short trade. The USD/CHF gapped down on the open about fifteen pips. This triggered a long trade in this pair.
The USD/JPY has a new pending long pivot trade that was created at the close of Friday’s session. The EUR/USD has a pending pivot short trade. The GBP/USD has a pending short pivot trade. There is a pending long pivot trade in the USD/CHF.
There are no significant news announcements for tomorrow. Therefore, there are no movers trades.

Pre-Holiday Cheer…

Another week has gone by, and the announcement of a White House sponsored bail out of the U.S. auto industry has helped rally American markets on Friday, and caps off another week with a barrage of important reports that affect trading in the Forex currency market.
While no one is suggesting we’re out of the woods by a long shot, but more in recent works there at least seems to be some degree of stability returning to the range in which the wild economic swings have been taking place. As the swings become less wild and some tentative gains in world stock markets seem to hold, there is at least a feeling that thing are becoming a little bit more stable, and you can’t underestimate how the feelings of confidence can affect the economy.
There are going to be plenty of swings still yet, and the worst is expected to still be coming after the December holiday season, but for now take the news as it comes and when there is a relatively stable, or even a good, week, just enjoy it. So without further delay, here is this week in review.

The USD/JPY has a new pending long pivot trade that was created at the close of Friday’s session. The EUR/USD has a pending pivot short trade. The GBP/USD has a pending short pivot trade. There is a pending long pivot trade in the USD/CHF.
There are no significant news announcements for tomorrow. Therefore, there are no movers trades. The CAD does have their Consumer Price Index for November being release tomorrow at 7:00 am ET. The consensus is that the rate has dropped year to date from 2.6% to 1.8%.

There are no significant news announcements for tomorrow. Therefore, there are no movers trades. However, the CAD is releasing their Retail Sales for October at 8:30 am ET. The consensus is that the Retail Sales have dropped from 1.1% to -1.1%.

The USD/JPY has a new pending long pivot trade that was created at the close of Friday’s session. The EUR/USD has a pending pivot short trade. The GBP/USD has a pending short pivot trade. The GBP pending long pivot trade was triggered during today’s session. This trade produced a trade of +46 pips. There is a pending long pivot trade in the USD/CHF.
The CPI movers trade was stopped out at a loss of -30 pips. The second movers trade triggered from the US FOMC announcement produced +168 pips profit.

The USD/JPY gapped up at the open of the new session. This triggered a gap trade in this pair. The first leg of this trade was exited at a profit, while the second trade was stopped out at breakeven.
The USD/JPY has a new pending long pivot trade that was created at the close of Friday’s session. The EUR/USD has a pending pivot short trade. The GBP/USD has a pending long and short pivot trade. There is a pending long pivot trade in the USD/CHF.
There are two possible movers trades fro tomorrow. The USD is releasing their CPI for November at 8:30 am ET. The consensus is that the CPI has dropped from -1.0% to
-1.3% and year to date the CPI has dropped from 3.7% to 1.5%. The USD also has their FOMC announcement being released at 2:15 pm ET. The consensus is that the rate will be lowered from 1.00% to 0.50%.
